Google photos decided to remind me of a time in my life 10 years ago and I was surprised to see that I still wear all the same clothes 😂 (I'm not much of a fashionista so if it still fits it gets worn)

It made me think about quality, not just of products that are long-lasting, but of people and the long-lasting impact they can have on us.

Quality conversations that you as a manager can have with your team that don't just impact them in that moment, but have the potential to inspire and encourage them for years later.

I still refer back to the feedback from a surfing instructor in Morocco who, after spending a couple of days teaching me to surf, said,

"You don't have to catch every wave to learn how to surf Jen". 🏄🏼‍♀️

Little did he know that I would still be referring back to that phrase 15 years on as a way of reining myself in from taking on too much, doing too much, and not allowing myself to simply be.

It also makes me realise that we don't always know the legacy we've left behind us. So keep aiming for quality, trust the process, and let go of looking for validation.

❓What quality conversations have inspired you in your life?

❓And when is the next opportunity for you to have a genuinely quality conversation with someone in your life, work or otherwise?

P.s. Thanks to Berghaus Ltd for my hiking boots (and much of my other kit) which has absolutely stood the test of time. It might not help your profits that your kit lasts this long, but it definitely earns respect and gratitude from me ❤️
